Big Trees & Mineral King Day Hikes
Giant Sequoias are the largest living things on earth, and our adventure will allow you to stand next to the granddaddy of them all. The General Sherman Tree is the biggest tree in the world, spanning 274.9 feet high and 102.6 feet in circumference.
Our hikes take us to the grandeur of the giant sequoias. After spending Day 1 at the Giant Forest in the heart of Sequoia National Park, we'll head to our base camp in Mineral King valley at 7,500 feet, where we will camp for five nights. Mineral King valley is a canyon carved by glaciers and features the Great Western Divide in its backyard.
The Great Western Divide is a chain of mountains that runs north/south through the center of Sequoia National Park. It divides the watersheds of the Kaweah River to the west and the Kern River to the east.
Our day hikes will afford spectacular views of 12,000-foot peaks, wild rivers cascading over rocks and groves of sequoias off the beaten path.
