Alaska: Denali
Denali National Park with Lodging & Friends in Fairbanks
Join us on this fun and exciting trip to Denali
National Park. Our first two days will be spent in and around
Fairbanks, where we'll sightsee the city and meet Mary Shields,
first woman to finish the 1100-mile Iditarod dogsled race.
We'll take the train to Denali and travel deep into the heart of the Park. We'll stay in cozy cabins near Wonder Lake and see the awe-inspiring panorama of Mt. McKinley and the Alaska Range.
24 hours of daylight will allow plenty of time for naturalist hikes, wildlife observation, birdwatching, mountain biking, even canoeing on Wonder Lake. Optional flightsee available. On the wildlife bus tour we've seen at close range moose, caribou, fox, grizzlies, Dall Sheepeven wolves.
Meeting local people (especially the interesting
women) made the experience special and more personal. I didn't feel
like just the typical tourist... This trip was a valuable experience
for me.Sandra Heise
